FISA manages the distribution of the Coast Capital Youth Education Award for grade 12 students graduating from independent schools in select regions throughout the province. These awards are for youth who have stayed committed to their education, even while facing adversity. Whether it’s financial difficulties, family issues, personal loss, lack of support, or health challenges, many students face barriers to education yet show great resilience in overcoming them. These awards provide those students with a financial boost as they make the transition to pursuing post-secondary education. Coast Capital is committed to improving access to post-secondary education for inequity experiencing young people in racialized communities, including Indigenous, Black, and People of Colour (IBPOC). Therefore, a minimum of 30% of the 2022 awards will be directed to IBPOC students.
